KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 19–The Amalgamated National Union of Local
Authorities Employees (Anulae) president Azih Muda (pic) has been
announced as the new Cuepacs president.
He replaces outgoing president Datuk Omar Osman.
This was made known by election committee chairman, Borhan Mustafa at the Congress of Union on Employees in the Public and Civil Services (Cuepacs)’s convention held at Menara PGRM in Cheras.
Azih who is the outgoing Cuepacs deputy president 1, beat Malaysian Armed Forces Civil Servants Union (Kesatria) president Ahmad Shah Mohd Zain by a 390-vote majority.
He garnered 701 votes while Ahmad Shah only managed 311 votes.
The election for the president’s post came down to only two candidates as polling kicked off yesterday.
Malayan Technical Services Union (MTSU) candidate Shuhaimi Othman pulled out from the race at the last minute, citing existing commitments.
